What are you fully committed to?
‘Fully Committed’ is a hotel term to say that ‘We are out of rooms.’ instead of saying ‘We are fully occupied’ or ‘We are fully booked’, it’s a safety net to say ‘Fully Committed’ because things can change, we may have guests refuse to leave the hotel, or a group reserve a whole block of rooms, or just refuse to sell a room to a certain type of person. Most hotels aim to be fully committed and when we are, that’s when things get even crazier, at night that’s when shit starts stacking up one issue after another, from noise complaints to smoking issues to domestic disputes.
I am Fully Committed to sharing the stories I’ve experienced during my time in the hotel industry and shed light on issues that are funny, sexy, and sometimes kinda gross. It’s actually those same stories that kept me in the industry for so long, when I’d get bored, I’d open another hotel and let a new breed of havoc and debauchery unfold in another part of the city. For a long time I was addicted to the possibility that during my shift anything can happen and being the one in charge of handling the chaos became a natural high. I opened hotels in different neighborhoods and worked for different brands from small boutiques to corporate chains to poser luxury; the names change, but the stories are baked with the same ingredients: Sex, Drugs, and Occupancy.
